Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd announced yesterday that they will be bringing Netflix’s streaming services to Astro’s platform and that the partnership between both companies will be unveiled this week.
The content providers announced in a joint statement that Astro customers will soon be able to enjoy Netflix on their Ultra Boxes during their first launch and subsequently in their Ulti Boxes.
“With this partnership, Astro and Netflix customers in Malaysia can enjoy greater convenience by having Netflix with their Astro subscription, providing easy access for payment in a single bill, at the best value,” it added.
According to Astro chief executive officer Henry Tan, this strategic partnership will further strengthen Astro’s position as a leading entertainment service provider in the country.
“Our partnership with Netflix consolidates Astro’s position as the No 1 entertainment destination for Malaysians by offering the best streaming services alongside our own best-loved originals, vernacular signatures, live sports and local blockbuster movies. Our announcements to date will extend our leadership in delivering the best entertainment experience to Malaysians,” said Tan.
This partnership will offer Astro subscribers a great of convenience by having Netflix with their Astro subscription while providing easy access for payment in a single bill at the best value.
Netflix vice president for business development in Asia Pacific Tony Zameczkowski said that this partnership will allow world-class multi-device entertainment experience to be enjoyed by more Malaysians.
