Sailing through a long-term relationship can often have you wonder about your existence when it starts reaching a tedium point… Tedium is the worst kind of boredom. So you slowly start considering your relationship with your significant other to be a plain, mundane routine relationship.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you value your relationship? If you replied “5” or less, you’re in a bad relationship and that needs to be resolved, ma ladies! Here are some helpful tips to give your relationship a spark!
Stop having expectations!
Be sure to ask yourself if you are really ready to mend the relationship, if you are then you have got to stop over expecting from your better half. It’s very important to prepare oneself with a certain level of understanding and maturity before stepping in to fix the relationship.
This is to refrain from getting disappointed when things don’t go your way so you can detach yourself from the problem without having it affect you emotionally and mentally.
This will also push you to think rationally and take action without being bias toward yourself or to your significant other!
Don’t judge and accept them for who they are
Always be open to ideas and try to look beyond where your partner is coming from when he/she shares input. Stop judging or criticising them.
Before you pass judgment on another person, take a moment to consider the situation from their point of view. Most people behave in such ways for a reason. Examine yourself through their eyes to ensure the issue isn’t triggered by you.
Talk things out in the open
If you don’t tell your partner, you can’t expect them to know something is wrong. Express your emotions without fear of being judged (especially if you’re frequently asked, “What’s wrong?”). Confrontation is unpleasant, but it is inevitable.
Putting your relationship under undue pressure by dragging out a dispute is a bad idea, so get it out of the way and express yourself.
Compliment each other
What aspect of your partner appeals to you as sexy or attractive? Do they have any peculiarities that you admire? What is the most thoughtful thing they’ve ever done for you? We can get so caught up in dwelling on our partner’s flaws that we fail to consider what we have and what drew us to them in the first place.
So start passing a simple comment when you see them like “you look really beautiful today” or hug them tight and say “nothing beats this comfort space” and trust me, it’ll be able to evolve your relationship to a whole new level!
Make some time for one another
Absence is said to make the heart grow fonder, but that doesn’t mean the relationship can flourish if you don’t spend time with it. Life can be hectic, particularly if you have kids, school, a career, a second job.
However, your relationship should always come first, no matter how full your plate is. Get a regular 10-minute mini-date where you cuddle up with a funny YouTube video, go for a short stroll, eat some dessert, or do something, you both love together…
