With WhatsApp being a primary mean of communication for work and personal reasons, messaging mishaps are bound to happen. Ever accidentally sent the message meant for your boyfriend to your mom, or a personal message to a work group? It happens.

Thankfully, there’s now a delete button to your rescue. If you’re able to delete the message before the person on the receiving end reads it, you’re safe. However, if someone uses this function with you, you will probably fall apart with curiosity. What was this deleted message about? Was it meant for me? And what did it say? No worries, the solution is there. You can easily retrieve and read the deleted WhatsApp message.

Good news for Android users as you can retrieve deleted messaged using an app. iPhone users, you might be able to use this function, but with a detour.

So how does the app work exactly? WhatsApp backs up your messages by default, and that’s the key unlocking the whole process. Remove WhatsApp, reinstall it and choose the option to restore chats via the backup that was previously made. Here is the deleted message again!

The video below explains exactly how this works, so that you can read all accidentally sent messages, like a true FBI.

Happy trying, folks!
