They really did leave us wanting more after the reboot of the 1993 American science-fiction adventure film Jurassic World hit the big screens in 2015. The film, which ranked the fourth highest-grossing film of all time, announced the making of its sequel that same year and after two years, Universal Studios finally released the first full-length trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
The story takes place a few years after the demise of the dinosaur park in the first film, whereby a threat of an erupting volcano hits Isla Nublar, putting the lives of surviving creatures on the island in danger. The sequel follows Bryce Dallas Howard who plays the founder of the Dinosaur Protection Group and former dinosaur trainer played by Chris Pratt on a mission to save the dinosaurs.
Die-hard fans of the 1990 same-titled novel by Michael Crichton have gone as far as to analyse the trailer in depth and it seems like new dinosaurs will be showcased in the latest instalment, with one of them being the fan favourite Baryonyx that has yet to show up in the films.
Jeff Goldblum who reenacted the character Ian Malcolm in the 1993 original film will be returning in Fallen Kingdom as the same character. Fallen Kingdom will mark the fifth instalment of the Jurassic Park franchise which revolves around Isla Nublar, a fictional islet where a wildlife park of cloned dinosaurs have been created.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will hit cinemas in 22 June 2018 and we can’t wait!
