You can’t deny it – Malaysians can be the worst at time management, and no matter the event or how formal the occasion, there is probably something called a ‘buffer time’ as chances are, most of us will be arriving fashionably late. Just think about the amount of times you’ve lied about being five minutes away from your destination when you weren’t even out the door yet..
That said, WhatsApp has just rolled out a live location sharing feature that is going to make it difficult for you to ‘lie’ your way through again. Available on both iOS and Android devices, the feature allows its users to share their current location in real-time, and you can choose to do so for 15 minutes, 1 hour or 8 hours with someone or a group chat.
Thankfully, you can stop sharing your real-time location at any point you want, but this feature can indeed be beneficial in many ways. It allows your friends and family to ensure that you are completely safe if need be, or can be used as a reliable method to share your commute just in case your Uber driver seems a tad bit dodgy.
For iOS users, the new WhatsApp feature will be based off of Apple’s Maps, whereas on Android, Google Maps will be the default map. Tell us, what will you use this feature for? 😉
