Yesterday, Her Highness Tunku Tun Aminah and Encik Dennis Abdullah tied the knot in an elegant and tradition-rich ceremony at Istana Bukit Serene in Johor Bahru.
In the evening, the celebrations continued with the “sitting in state” (or better known as bersanding) ceremony at the Grand Palace. And what struck our fancy was how simple and minimal (by royal family standards) the nuptials were! This proves the notion that it isn’t the wedding that matters, but the bond between two people in love.
The couple sat on an elegant dais as family members and dignitaries dropped petals into their hands and sprinkled them with scented water.
Afterwards, the newlyweds made their first public appearance as man and wife on the palace steps, smiling and waving to around 1,200 reception guests assembled in the garden.
Though the decorations and attires were kept minimal (read: elegant and timeless) , it’s also been reported that Nicole Scherzinger performed at the royal wedding! She even made a pit stop at a nearby KFC because what’s a good party without getting supper after?
Here’s to a lifetime of love, joy and merriment for the royal couple!
