Since the dawn of mankind, food has played a role in bringing people together. But few would have predicted the delightful union of gangsta rapper Snoop Dogg and domestic goddess Martha Stewart.
Martha & Snoop’s Pot Luck Dinner Party is so successful not because the food they looks amazing (even though it does) or their ultra-famous guests. The show works because Snoop and Martha are the ultimate odd couple friendship goals, and watching that unlikely friendship play itself out on TV is practically my dream come true.
The series finds the dynamic duo inviting their celebrity friends to join them for food, conversation, and plenty of pot (geddit?) jokes. Among the high-profile names cooking up comedy and meals with Snoop and Stewart on the first season are Seth Rogen, Ice Cube, Robin Thicke, Naya Rivera, and 50 Cent.
Despite Snoop Dogg bearing the persona of that uncle who lets you steal a sip of his beer and Martha embodying that Stepford wife who won’t allow any trans fats in her house, the two of them vibe surprisingly well. In their dynamic, Martha provides cooking chops while Snoop (and Martha) comes through with dad jokes about weed.
However the show turns out, we feel like Martha & Snoop’s Pot Luck Dinner Party will be a hit thanks to Snoops infectious good vibes and Martha’s kitchen mafia ways.
