You know what, we’re actually feeling for him.

Justin Bieber has abruptly cancelled the remainder of his Purpose world tour in North America and Asia, including Bangkok and Singapore, amounting to 14 scheduled shows.

According to his Facebook page, an official statement read, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Justin Bieber will cancel the remainder of the Purpose World Tour concerts. Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them. He thanks his fans for the incredible experience of the Purpose World Tour over last 18 months. He is grateful and honoured to have shared that experience with his cast and crew for over 150 successful shows across 6 continents during this run. However, after careful consideration he has decided he will not be performing any further dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase”

Although it was first cited that the Purpose tour got cancelled due to “unforeseen circumstances”, Bieber said in an interview that, “Everything’s fine. I’ve been on tour for two years.” The 23-year-old singer added, “Just resting, getting some relaxation — we’re gonna ride some bikes.”

He then apologised to his fans, “Sorry for anybody who feels disappointed or betrayed,” he mentioned. “Have a blessed day.” Beginning March 2016, Bieber has played 154 concerts to date and evidently, doing more shows has proved to be too much for him.

Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun also defended the pop star adding, a man’s soul and well-being I truly care about came first and We must all respect and honour that.” John Mayer also supported his decision, tweeting, “When someone pulls remaining dates of a tour, it means they would have done real damage to themselves if they kept going.”

For those who have purchased tickets for the Singapore show, full refunds will be given from August 1 to August 14. Credit card payments will be refunded automatically within 14 business days, and fans who purchased through other methods such as cash or NETS are to head to Sports Hub Tix at Singapore Indoor Stadium for their refund.

The Sports Hub Tix booth will be operated from 10am to 8pm from Mondays to Saturdays, and 12pm to 8pm on Sundays and public holidays.
