Wow, 2017 is looking real good for Henry Golding. The handsome actor who nabbed the coveted lead role in upcoming film Crazy Rich Asians, has booked his next gig: starring opposite Hollywood favourites Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively in Lionsgate’s film — A Simple Favor.
The story follows mommy blogger Stephanie (Anna Kendrick), who seeks to uncover the truth behind her best friend Emily’s ( Blake Lively) sudden disappearance from their small town. Stephanie is joined by Emily’s husband, Sean (Henry Golding), in this thriller filled with twists and betrayals, secrets and revelations, love and loyalty, murder and revenge.
The film is slated to begin shooting 14th August in Toronto, with Ghostbusters helmer Paul Feig is directing the film. The director and Jessie Henderson are producing through their FeigCo banner, while Jessica Sharzer wrote the script based on Darcey Bell’s book of the same name.
Henry Golding, who is currently based in Singapore after growing up in London, will next be seen making his feature film debut as the lead in Warner Bros.’ Crazy Rich Asians opposite Constance Wu. It is a major gig for the actor, who was previously known for hosting TV travel shows.
