Guillermo Del Toro’s otherworldly The Shape of Water trailer was just unveiled, and the film, set in Cold War 1963, depicts a story about a mute and lonely woman named Elisa whose life transforms forever when she discovers a classified experiment with her co-worker Zelda.
This experiment in question involves an aquatic man, whom Elisa then works hard to help set him free. From the trailer alone, there are ethereal underwater scenes, though we are unsure if those are merely Elisa’s dreams. Starring Sally Hawkins, Octavia Spencer, Doug Jones and more, The Shape of Water premieres early December 2018.
