Riley, a superhero for little girls

Feminism starts young these days and this is evident in this video titled Riley on Marketing that has amassed close to two million hits.

In the video, we watch little Riley basks in the injustice of marketing in the toy section of a departmental store. Big corporations and companies have instilled the notion of what we should like and should have that even a four year old girl could see through this.

If you’re a girl and you don’t like pink or princesses then you’re not alone. Riley goes, “Why do all the girls have to buy pink stuff and all the boys have to buy different-color stuff?”

She goes on to say, “Some boys like princess stuff and some girls like superheroes.” So if a little child can understand prejudice and stereotypes, we see no reason for equality in the world. Looks like there’s no need to worry about the future generations.

Aww. Those darned things that kids say. What a spunky girl and we especially like the fact that she’s wearing blue, go girl power!
