Following the announcement of the termination of La Kaffa International Ltd’s contract over the Chatime franchise which was announced on January 6, Loob Holding Sdn Bhd is looking to rebrand its 165 Chatime outlets in Malaysia.
According to the franchise agreement, all existing outlets would cease using the Chatime branding in 45 days. With that said, Loob CEO Bryan Loo mentioned that the management is now working closely with franchisees, outlet staff, frontline workers, partners and associates to intensify the pace in the coming weeks.
“We will surely come up with something better. Loob Holding has 10 brands under us, including this Taiwanese brand which we built from scratch in Malaysia. In 2011, there were a few dozen bubble tea brands and now, there’re only three. We are by far the market leader in our segment and we are confident of holding this leadership with our own brand, which will be revealed when the time comes,” Loo said in a statement.
Loob also aims to retain its 1,000-strong workforce under Chatime. What do you think Chatime would be rebranded to? Will there be the same great flavours and tastes we love?
