Last October, Covergirl brought in James Charles, makeup artist and social media influencer, as its first-ever male face. Now, Maybelline too has followed suit by signing another one of YouTube’s popular “beauty boys”, Manny Gutierrez. Or better knows to his 3 million Instagram followers (and counting) as @mannymua733.
Manny Gutierrez is a YouTube glam guru with a penchant for slaying a full face of makeup. His talent caught the eyes of Maybelline New York, who have just announced their brand-new mascara campaign, and their two chosen stars – Manny and Shayla Mitchell.
The two glam gurus put their best faces forward for Maybelline’s The Colossal Big Shot mascara, channeling their best beauty boss attitudes for the campaign. And while we couldn’t be happier for both YouTubers, we’re especially thrilled to see that Maybelline is following in the footsteps of other major companies in its acknowledgement of boy beauty influencers.
In a statement, Manny said that he was “thrilled to be able to work with a global brand like Maybelline that is recognizing male influencer talent and is willing to shine a spotlight on it.”
And, as Manny beautifully proves, no makeup loving individual should have to hide behind a facade of no-makeup makeup.
