Another social media frenzy is taking over the internet, and it’s more risqué than ever! Women from over the world seem ecstatic to take part in the one finger selfie challenge, whereby they post mirror selfies while holding up one finger to cover their privates, naked.
The bizarre phenomenon is inspired by Sky-FreeDom, Japanese anime artist who created manga illustrations similar to the poses the women are emulating. It first broke the internet in China, and looks like women from other countries are picking up on the trend too.

In the image above, the anime character can be seen positioning her finger carefully to cover her genital area, making it look like a censor. This type of illustration is commonly found in porn comics, or hentai in Japanese.
Despite porn being common in Japan, it is completely illegal for anime artists to feature stills that consist of nipples, vajayjays and penis. Since they can’t feature any of the characters’ private parts, the Japs got creative and decided to substitute them with other objects instead.

With that said, the one finger selfie challenge is actually Sky Freedom’s creative way to go around the hentai law in the country, and we seriously have no clue as to why this is such a viral trend.
