Time and time again we’re reminded that not everything we see is the absolute truth. But thanks to our Instagram feeds, that notion gets harder and harder to believe. But though these seemingly perfect cool girls of Instagram seem to be living the life, never forget that they too get scrutinised and have low points in their self esteem – kinda like everyone else.
In an industry where appearances are so prevalent, Austrian-born London-based model, Jazz Egger, decided to reveal the #TruthBehindThisShot on her Instagram account.
Using the hashtag #TruthBehindThisShot, Jazz has gone through certain photos on her Instagram and re-captioned them to reveal the raw truth behind what happened or what she was feeling while posting them.
For example, in a post, Jazz is seen posing with another model during London Fashion Week, where she wrote, “#truthbehindthisshot I didn’t sleep much the night before bc fashionweek is pure madness. + I didn’t eat/drink salt, sugar, fat and alcohol for months to prevent my skin from breaking out. Didn’t work. Makeup artists covered it up.”
From our perspective, it’s great that Jazz, who would leave an impressionable effect on many girls, encourages honesty and is helping to break down the image that often surround people’s social media profiles and their lives.
