Isetan, the Japanese retail giant is set to open the world’s first speciality concept store, The Japan Store at Lot 10, Bukit Bintang.
It was initiated by a local company set up by Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings and Cool Japan Fund Inc., a Japanese company with a goal to promote Japanese cultures to the rest of the world as well as to improve the country’s economy.
The six-floor concept store will feature Japanese history, culture, technology, diversity and lifestyle designs through a carefully curated selection of brands, products and services. Customers can find over 200 exceptional products from Japan including regional brands, where some are being introduced in the Malaysian market for the first time.
Designed by architect Noritaka Tange of Tange Associates and designer Yasumichi Morita, the interior will be curated after a Japanese garden. Each floor is dedicated to a product category and thematic experience from food to culture, fashion to beauty and technology, namely The Museum, The Studio, The Room, The Cube, The Table and The Market.
