When Beyonce’s “Sorry” hit the screens, her fans were enraged when they heard the lyrics “He only want me when I’m not there / He better call Becky with the good hair”. The Bey-hive went on a social media rampage, trying to figure out who “Becky” was.
The main suspect was fashion designer Rachel Roy (who really does have good hair). Rita Ora and Taylor Swift also subsequently got the heat.
Recently, songwriter Diana Gordon decided to come clean and reveal who “Becky with the good hair” is, and it turned out to be NO ONE! That’s right, it was nothing more than just a lyric.
“I laughed, like this is so silly. Where are we living?” Diana Gordon told Entertainment Weekly. “I was like, ‘What day in age from that lyric do you get all of this information? Is it really telling you all that much, accusing people?”
Okay, Bey-hive, you guys can retire from accusations and get back to work, until a new songs pops out of course.
