Christmas 2011: Sparkle like a rockstar!

The fastest way to make anything look expensive is to slap some glitter all over it. Glitter can be a messy and difficult substance to tackle but once you’ve mastered the art of applying it, you’d be anything but tacky. Before you purchase any cosmetic glitter, read up and let us educate on the types of cosmetic glitter there is and what they’re used for!

Glitter liners or pencils

Our ordinary liquid liners take on rock and roll glamour. These liners are infused with glitters in variety of colors. Apply like how you would with your ordinary liner and let it dry.

Diamond powders

These come in the form of finely milled powder glitter which come in salt and pepper shaped containers. Lightly tap a small amount into the cap and using a pencil brush, dust it over your eyes, lips, cheeks, shoulders and sparkle away! You can also mix a hint of it into your loose powders to give your face a healthy shimmery glow

Compressed powder form

The easiest to carry around for touch ups but the texture is not as pretty or pigmented as loose glitter. Comes in a palette with different shades containing light shimmer. Layer it onto your existing eyeshadows and watch the color change!

Loose powder form

Comes in containers of different shades of shimmer colours. Most commonly used when mixed with loose powder or eye shadow to give a healthy glow to one’s makeup which can be used daily.

Seashell glitter

Sea shells can be pounded into powder and mixed together with other powder to create shimmery eyeshadows but people who are intolerant to shellfish may get an allergy so cosmetic companies have replaced seas shell components with mica instead, a natural mineral with glittering effect. They are relatively larger in size compared to the finely milled shimmers and apart from skin makeup you can use them on your nails as well!

In the coming weeks we’ll be covering the dos and don’t of glitter makeup as well as some makeup looks you can try out before you head out to your Christmas party, so don’t forget to hang around with us for the whole of December as we shower you with glam up tips from beauty to fashion all month!
