Heels are the bane of every woman and we all have a love-hate relationship with them. We love how they elongate our legs and give us that much needed extra height but we hate the blisters, corns and sores that come with them. How are too high and what exactly is the optimum height for heels?
Visually, the higher the heel, the sexier it is but unfortunately there is a payoff between comfort and sexiness and we’re always looking to find the right balance between the two.
According to shoe designers, the maximum heel height for comfort is about 3 inches or 7 centimetres because it gives you height and stretches your leg muscles to make the look slim without compromising your stature. Plus it doesn’t look like you might as well be wearing flats.
If you often find yourself wobbly on stilettos, don’t let that turn you off from wearing heels altogether. Our newfound loves are the reinvention of the chunky thick heeled platforms which offer a sturdy base and plenty of support. The best part is that they’re curved to be really comfortable to wear though they may seem scarily high. These heels are perfect for a long day at work or shopping at the mall.
When they first started appearing on catalogs we weren’t so convinced because they did look a bit dated but many fashion blogs later, we were sold! We hope this trend lasts because our backs are thanking us for it!
Here are some of our favourite fashion bloggers rocking the thick heel look!
