LOL, what?!
A married couple in their 40s were arrested at their home in Kota Damansara on Feb 22 for hacking Touch ‘n Go cards by cracking the encryption and illegally reloading them to the maximum sum of RM1,500 per card via an Android app downloaded off the Internet.
They also used them illegally for up to two months for toll fares and retail purchasing.
The couple installed the app on their smartphones and used a wireless technology that enables two electronic devices to be connected within a short range to reload the cards. The cashless system operator lost RM20,000 within two months.
Investigators also managed to find the source of the app – it was from an online forum. The forum is still yet to be cracked under the Computer Crimes Act.
Well, that’s what you get for trying to outsmart the system. :/
