This Christmas, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur welcomes you to its brightest celebration – Christmas Sparkles. Conceptualised based on the joyfulness and sparkles of the holiday season, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, together with Swarovski, erected a 23-metre tall Swarovski Christmas tree that’s made up entirely of crystal strands.
Inspired by Swarovski’s Christmas Collection with model and entrepreneur Miranda Kerr, the tree glimmers with more than 3,100 crystal strands, which amounts to a whopping total of 174,853 pieces of individual crystals. This tallest Swarovski Christmas tree in Asia is valued at approximately RM3 million.
At the launch event, guests were greeted by the tunes of professional pianist Charmaine Lai, and violinist, Josh Kua. Swarovski’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection was also brought to life by live mannequins, who were donning the latest styles by renowned fashion designer Khoon Hooi.
As the magnificent Christmas tree was lighted up, confetti burst into the air, igniting the joyful spirit of Christmas in everyone. The event, which was supported by Maybank, was then brought to a climax when a flash mob performance by over 500 fans of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur surprised the crowd and fellow shoppers in the mall.
Other than the Christmas tree, some other activities throughout the Christmas period include the Sparkling Pavilion Express train rides, the thoughtful ‘Dear Santa’ mailbox where shoppers can mail a postcard to Santa himself, and the most sparkling treat of it all – a magical snowfall at the Bukit Bintang entrance.
