It comes to no surprise that the fashion industry favours a certain body type, that being tall and thin but despite being the face of Balmain and walking down fashion shows like Versace, it seems Gigi Hadid is no exception to body shaming.
On Tuesday, Gigi Hadid took to Instagram to call out the body shamers with a strongly worded post. “Yes, I have boobs, I have abs, I have a butt, I have thighs, but I’m not asking for special treatment” she writes. “If you don’t like it, don’t follow me, don’t watch me, cause I’m not going anywhere.”
Since posting the photo, Hadid has received support from the likes of Victoria Secret models, plus-size models and Tyra Banks. She also has received support from people who she says “are the most emotionally affected within the fashion industry by this type of criticism”
