Disney’s 1967 animated classic, The Jungle Book is getting a kick-a** live-action remake. The animated favourite has been beloved for years and years for its unique animal characters and of course, its catchy soundtrack.
In the 2015 remake, which is directed by Jon Favreau, the film has less of a Disney film and more of James Cameron. If you feel like the movie relied a lot on the motion-capture techniques, which Cameron used for Avatar, you’re correct. The only thing that’s real about the upcoming The Jungle Book is our favourite jungle boy, Mowgli who is played by newcomer Neel Sethi.
Nethi may be the only human set to appear on the camera but behind-the-scenes, he is a accompanied by various voice talents, which includes Bill Murray, Scarlett Johannson, Ben Kingsley, Lupita Nyong’o, Christopher Walken and Scarlett Johannson as the Snake, Kaa. Disney’s The Jungle Book is slated to be released in April 2016 and we already cannot wait, especially after watching the very impressive trailer. One can only hope that the movie will be as great, if not better than the fantastical trailer. We have a sneaky feeling it will be as we get a glimpse of Mowgli sitting on top of Baloo (voiced by Bill Murray) as they float down the river singing “The Bare Necessities.”
