Australia’s only Neo-Soul, Jazz and Hip-Hop festival, Soulfest, is about to make its way to the shores of Malaysia for the first time ever this year! Soulfest Asia 2015 is set to bring music lovers a night of soul, rhythm and groove on 17 October 2015 at Mines International Exhibitions & Convention Centre (MIECC).
The famed urban music festival debuted in Australia and New Zealand last year, and the event is catered for music fans who are looking to loosen up and unwind. The organiser, Soulnation Asia, also revealed the first wave of artist lineup for Soulfest Asia 2015 and we cannot be more stoked!
The queen of hip-hop and urban music, Mary J. Blige and Grammy nominated Jhene Aiko are set to perform alongside hip-hop favourites Talib Kweli and De La Soul, together with Joe Flizzow and his entire Kartel family, soul singer Najwa and hip-hop collective Raising The Bar live on stage. Soulfest Asia’s debut will also feature regional superstars like Singapore rapper, Shigga Shay.
Soulfest Asia, together with partner Tune Studios, will also be on a soul searching mission for more talented local artistes, one of whom will get the opportunity to perform on the Soulfest Asia stage.
In support of Malaysia’s Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO), The Soul Sisters Package is specially planned for four girlfriends to let loose together for the price of three tickets. The festival will kick off at 3pm with the rhythm flowing all the way till midnight, and fans will be accompanied by an expansive array of tantalising cuisine, featuring authentic Soulfood and pop-up eateries created and curated by the BIG Group.
Tickets go on sale on 17th August 2015 with prices starting from RM198 via www.airaisaredtix.com and www.eventopia.co. More artistes are to be announced soon, so register here for more information on the second phase of artistes.
