Simba and Nala are coming back on television because there’s going to be a new Lion King movie!
The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar follows Simba and Nala’s second-born son, Kion, who leads the Lion Guard, which is the military for the Pride Lands. He gathers a group of friends, which include a honey badger, an egret, a cheetah, and a hippo, to solve issues going on in the kingdom.
Rob Lowe and Gabrielle Union will play Simba and Nala, whereas James Earl Jones and Ernie Sabella will play Mufasa and Pumbaa.
The movie is directed towards slightly younger children compared to the original 1994 film and will be aired on Disney Junior. The Lion Guard will then be made into a TV series on Disney channel, airing the start of 2016.
It’s sort of educational, but would it be anything like our original childhood favourite?
