From the 7th to 9th of August 2015 (this weekend), the KL City Grand Prix will be hosted within the spectacular architecture, infrastructure and multi-cultural setting of our beloved city, Kuala Lumpur.
After months of preparation, a dynamic 3.2km street circuit has been determined within the city centre itself and this weekend, race enthusiasts will be able to witness fast sweeping turn combinations, significant elevation changes and a unique pit lane configuration all throughout a tight and gritty true city race track.
Beginning outside the front doors of Suria KLCC, the course for KL City Grand Prix showcases iconic landmarks such as the Petronas Towers and Menara KL, and continues on in a loop going around Jalan Ampang, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Perak and Jalan P. Ramlee.
With exciting race categories and on-track entertainment, the KL City Grand Prix offers plenty of community zones that can offer great track side viewing, including in pit straight, displays, merchandises and fun activities for the whole family. For the ultimate experience, race enthusiasts can also upgrade to a more premium walkabout viewing and activity experience or grandstand seating.
Besides attracting the likes of adrenaline-loving spectators, the KL City Grand Prix event also draws the attention of many international visitors, which is integral to maximise commercial opportunities in the future. For the race this weekend, the participating race series include the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, Formula Masters and V8 Supercars.
This is the first time V8 Supercars will be making an appearance in Malaysia, and the race will feature five top drivers including Craig Lowndes, Scott McLaughlin, Will Davison, Todd Kelly and Chaz Mostert. The Australia based V8 Supercars is a premier international motorsports series and it is now acclaimed as one of the best and most entertaining motorsports event worldwide.
