After a gruelling search, Veet has ended its hunt for the one girl who may just be the next big name in Malaysia’s modelling scene. The Grand Prize winner, Rowena Lau, 24, walked away with an opportunity to be featured in a magazine alongside Izara Aishah and Amber Chia, RM8,500 worth of modelling courses at Amber Chia Academy, a RM10,000 cash prize and RM1,000 worth of Reckitt Benckiser products.
In March 2015, Veet kicked off its first-ever Veet Mega Model Search 2015 opened to Malaysian girls aged between 18 to 26 who dream of making it big in the modelling industry, paving the perfect platform for her future career.
Top 10 finalists were shortlisted from over 800 hopeful contestants and in preparation for the Grand Finale, the finalists went through a two-day workshop and makeover session at Amber Chia Academy, equipping them with essential skills needed on the runway.
During the Grand Finale, the 10 finalists showed off their natural flair to impress the judging panel, made up of Matias Caride (Marketing Director, RB Malaysia & Singapore), Karin Chan (Marketing Manager, Veet Malaysia & Singapore), Izara Aishah (Veet ambassador, artiste and actress), Amber Chia (Supermodel and founder of Amber Chia Academy) and Benjamin Toong (Catwalk Guru of Amber Chia Academy).
Veet also took the opportunity to unveil its latest products, the Brightening Hair Removal Cream for Normal to Dry Skin and Sensitive Skin. It removes short, stubborn hairs and dead skin cells, to reveal smoother, visibly brighter skin with every depilation. Enriched with micro-beads, Veet Brightening Hair Removal Cream exfoliates skin the gently for a brightened effect.
Nurul Faizura Binti Gamal Abdul Nasser, 21, took home the 1st Runner-up title of Veet Mega Model Search 2015, while Andrea Tan Wan Ying, 22, won 2nd Runner-up. Other subsidiary titles included Crystal Tung Lu Yie, 20, as the winner of Most Photogenic Model and Emy Farrah Elena Binti Mohd Johari, 20, as the winner of Most Confident Model.
