Over the weekend, the cofounder and namesake of Burt’s Bees, Burt Shavitz, passed away at age 80 due to respiratory complications. To pay tribute to the great and humble man, I thought it would be a good idea to share with you some of the products I love and swear by, by Burt’s Bees. Check out my review below:
1. Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream (RM56) – Prior to using this, I suffered from brittle nails and parched cuticles. My love for nail art only made things worse. With its fresh lemon scent and nourishing ingredients like sweet almond oil and cocoa seed butter, this cuticle cream has been my absolute saviour. It protects while strengthening my nails and cuticles from within. If there is one Burt’s Bees product I cannot live without, it would be this one.
2. Lip Crayon (RM81.50) – These lip crayons are fairly new to Burt’s Bees, and I’ve been obsessed with them. Even though it only comes in six shades, all the colours are gorgeous and highly pigmented. Most matte lip colours can be drying, but these ones are creamy, nourishing and very comfortable to wear. These lippies are perfect for everyday and I get so much use out of them.
3. Fabulously Fresh Peppermint & Rosemary Body Wash (RM75) – Even though this body wash doesn’t lather up very well, it leaves my body feeling absolutely clean, refreshed and rejuvenated. Fresh, therapeutic and invigorating, its herby and pepperminty scent is hands down one of my favourite scents ever. You simply NEED to step into Burt’s Bees just to give this product a whiff.
4. Nourishing Lip Balm with Mango Butter (RM25) – I’ve tried many of the Burt’s Bees lip balms but this mango butter one is by far my favourite. Most minty lip balms dry out my lips and this one doesn’t contain any mint in it. It soothes and nourishes my lips while keeping them hydrated, and it smells delightful.
5. Res-Q Ointment (RM49) – I never leave home without this ointment as it comes in handy for so many purposes. I use it on bruises, mosquito bites, cuts and cracked skin as it works well at reducing inflammation and healing the skin. This ointment is a must have when travelling to cold countries as it prevents my hands from getting dry and peeling.
