The Queen of Digital Print, Mary Katrantzou is back again with her iconic work for adidas Originals Spring/Summer 2015. Her second capsule collection boasts a plethora of colours, textures and form delivered in sport-style essentials in apparel and footwear.
Futuristic and dynamic, the collection features an explosion of electric colours and immersive prints, which is true to Katrantzou’s creative vision. This season, the designer looks back to 80’s fitness takes on sportswear paraphernalia to create abstract collages and figurative motifs.
We absolutely dig the intricate digital prints across these wardrobe staples. With a closer look, the prints reveal themselves to be collages of various sports gear and these elements are put together to form Katrantzou’s witty yet subtle ode to the athletic tradition of adidas.
The kaleidoscopic collection offers a structured tee embellished with silicone badges, lenticular patches and crystals, a reversible varsity jacket with satin stitching and chenille applique, a short crepe tank dress that’s constructed seamlessly as well as basic essentials like leggings, trackpants, boyfriend tees, boy shorts and jersey swimsuits.
Clearly, these striking statement pieces aren’t just meant for the gym. The footwear in Katrantzou’s capsule collection are new takes on adidas classics and similarly, the shoes are remade with eye-catching colourful patterns and motifs.
adidas Originals by Mary Katrantzou will be available exclusively at the adidas Originals Concept Store, Suria KLCC from July 17th onwards. Prices range from RM290 to RM860.
