We know last weekend was epic for some of you. And we mean those who braved the crowd at Malaysia’s largest rock festival. Rockaway 2011 featured 12 hours of mosh pitting, body surfing, singing in the rain, and a crowd of over 7,000 people who were all there for just one thing – good rock music.
The display of 16 local acts and three international bands brought screaming and screeching fans into the venue, fan boys and fan girls alike! It was especially hard to stay rooted to the ground when our very own homegrown artists such as Kyoto Protocol, Twilight Action Girl, and One Buck Short each took the stage with their engaging performances.
And the highlights, of course, were when the international acts such as Story of the Year, All Time Low, and The Used that took complete charge of the show with a burst of energy and absolutely kicking sounds! But the evening ended on a sweet note when Bert and Quinn Allman from The Used performed the mellow acoustics with ‘On My Own’.
“Thank you Malaysia for making today so awesome. See you next time!” – Story of the Year.
The music’s still ringing in our ears. It was truly an extraordinary event that has set the bar for live music festivals in Malaysia. Artists and fans alike went home with just one thing in common – the unforgettable memory of Rockaway 2011.
