Eyebrows have the power to express a different or new impression every time you shape and define them. Natural eyebrows should be three dimensional, with both the volume and shadow naturally built up by each brow hair. In three easy steps, shu uemura allows you to create any sophisticated style by teaching you how to master the technique of shading, defining and using colour on your brows.
Step 1: Shade the area to recreate a natural shadow on the skin, as if created by natural hair.
Step 2: Draw precise individual brow hairs to define the brows by filling in the gaps between the brows.
Step 3: Choose a colour tint that matches your hair colour.
To add to the 3D brow styling line-up, shu uemura offers two new products: the brow:sword, a pre-shaped brow pencil and the brow:palette, a handy eyebrow kit for beginners complete with applicators.
Available in five different shades, the brow:sword is an easy, soft naginata (samurai sword) brow pencil that has a beautiful smooth texture for easy drawing. To keep things precise and convenient, it also comes with a pre-set sharpener and a brush spoolie for blending.
How to use the brush
Pull the bottom cap off to reveal the brush. Hold the brush flat against the brow, and brush outwards to comb the brow hair.
How to sharpen the pencil
Pull out the cap and reveal the formula. Twist the bottom cap to reveal the sharpener. Hold the sharpener on notch at the bottom. Twist the pencil to reveal approximately 7mm of lead, and gently slide the pencil along the groove at a 30° angle.
If you’re a beginner when it comes to defining eyebrows, the brow:palette would be your ideal product. It comes with two matte shades that are easily blendable, and applicators for precision, making it the perfect eyebrow kit for travelling. The brow:palette comes in two pre-set kits with two different shades.
How to use
Take the lighter colour on the tip of the brush and draw the overall eyebrow shape. Then, in the centre of the eyebrow, apply the darker colour to create a natural dimension. Use the sponge side to soften and clean up the lines.
Got a lighter hair colour that’s close to blonde? shu uemura has also created new tea beige shades for the brow:ink, hard formula and eyebrow manicure.
