Celebrate Malaysian and Middle Eastern culture this festive season with Royal Selangor’s Warisan, Atiya and Gembira collections.
The Warisan Collection explores the deep relationship between Malaysians and their culture, which is expressed through Malaysia’s rich artistic heritage. Inspired by traditional Malaysian crafts and heritage buildings, this collection pays homage to the wau, the local shadow puppet tradition, wayang kulit and Malaysia’s well known heritage buildings.
The collection comprises of three plaques and one commemorative plate. Perfect as elegant home décor or a gift for celebrating important milestones, Warisan embodies the Malay proverb ‘tak lapuk dek hujan, tak lekang dek panas’ which describes the timeless beauty of the country’s artistic heritage.
Royal Selangor’s Atiya honours the generosity of Middle Eastern hospitality in its latest collection of opulent tableware.
Featuring the arabesque in which complex interlacing pewter plant motifs portray the infinite beauty of divine perfection, each piece of this Islamic art inspired collection – a coffee set, tray, caddy, plates (12” and 10”) and a tumbler, is inspired by Islamic patterns carved on the wooden pulpits of 15th century Egyptian mosques.
A nostalgia for the graciousness and gentler pace of a bygone Malaya embodies the latest homeware collection, Gembira from Royal Selangor. The collection evokes bucolic afternoon teas on the veranda, and features the motifs of that ubiquitous fabric of the Malay Archipelago, batik.
Comprising of a teapot, milk jug, sugar caddy, a tray, a bud vase, a card holder, clocks (desk and wall) and a plate, this collection marries contemporary style with a retro feel, recalling a rose-tinted vision of life as portrayed in movies from the 1950s.
All three collections make exquisite gifts for friends or family. View them at any Royal Selangor retail store, authorised dealer and online.
