So it’s official – the world’s leading marketer launched the much anticipated new model early today. However, analysts around the world are busy chiding Apple for making their fans wait for about 16 months for the new iPhone that’s..more of an evolution than a revolution.
Spot the difference? Or not? No.
Looking just like its predecessor, the iPhone 4S is merely a souped-up version of last year’s device (iPhone 4). But, it is the first iPhone ever to come packed with a dual-core A5 processor (the same one that the iPad2 has) – which basically means faster loading and enabling applications to run faster.
It was also announced that the iPhone 4S will feature a better 8-megapixel camera with HD video, the new iCloud service (launching with the iOS5), and better graphics.
And here’s its unique selling point – Apple is including a new personal assistant feature called, “Siri”. “Siri” is basically an advanced version of speech-recognition apps found in all other phones and “she” will respond to spoken questions and commands. It seems, that “she” will be able to hold conversations, manage calendar appointments and reminders, find restaurants, and answer weather inquiries.
Watch “Siri” talk, among other things:
Pretty..brilliant? We’re pretty sure it’s not an entirely breakthrough moment, the whole “Let’s Talk iPhone” event. And it would be safe to say that we heard collective sighs of disappointment from Apple fans who have patiently waited with bated breaths.
That said, it’s likely that this will just create more demand and hype for the iPhone 5 when it comes out. And fans are willing to forgive the technology giant anyway. So, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS users, time to upgrade now or wait for the iPhone 5?
