The Autumn-Winter 2015 collection is inspired by the theme of Eternal Love and its most iconic couple, Romeo and Juliette. Romeo and Juliette symbolise the ultimate romance, but also dance and Prokofiev’s eponymous ballet. From the world of Shakespeare, Repetto has borrowed two quintessential tableaux for a collection bursting with emotion and rich in inspiration: the Ball and the Balcony Scene.
The Ball
Our lovers meet, discover each other and fall in love. It’s a gracious and deliciously fresh pas de deux expressed in a variation of five flamboyant colours, just like a blossoming love – red, pink and yellow – but also announcing the fruits of the difficulties that lie ahead – blue, midnight blue and black.
The Balcony
The balcony scene is a key passage in Shakespearian mythology. It’s at this moment when feelings express themselves in the very purest and most delicate way possible. Beneath the balcony await Romeo, hoping, imploring.
When Juliette appears, the lightness of her silhouette floating in the air is matched only by the intensity of their emotions.
The colour spectrum slips from brown and grey to pink and Repetto pink, the colour of the main piece, Juliette’s dress.
