On the 18th and 19th of March, Laneige Malaysia hosted a Sleeping Beauty Slumber Party event for a small group of media members at Casa Del Rio, Malacca. Even though it was only a one-night stay, it was certainly relaxing and rejuvenating. Besides doing some sightseeing and eating our hearts out, we also received a pampering facial massage from Satkara Spa and managed to ride on a river cruise along the Malacca River.
The highlight of our trip was of course the Slumber Party, in which members of the media were required to attend in their pyjamas. Held at the hotel’s Presidential Suite which was brilliantly decorated for that evening, we discovered more about Laneige’s new and improved Water Sleeping Mask. An upgrade of Laneige’s famed Water Sleeping Pack_EX which has become a cult favourite even for Westerners, the new Water Sleeping Mask provides an even better night’s sleep and revitalised skin.
Besides that star of the show, Laneige also launched two other products, the Lip Sleeping Mask and the Water Drop Tinted Lip Balm. The antioxidant-rich Lip Sleeping Mask smells wonderful and soothes chapped lips while hydrating them with the goodness of berries and vitamin C. Available in three shades, Laneige’s Water Drop Tinted Lip Balm contains improved moisture-retaining power to keep the lips moist and supple while gently removing dead skin cells.
After hearing an in-depth introduction on the products from Laneige’s Senior Researcher and Director of Singapore Research & Innovation Center, Mr. Lee Yun Ha, we were given the opportunity to test out the products for ourselves. With our facial headbands in place and the Water Sleeping Mask applied onto our skin, we were then lavished with a healthy supper spread before heading to bed.

Water Sleeping Mask
Laneige’s new Water Sleeping Mask is packed with more benefits compared to its predecessor. It restores and repairs damaged skin cells, retains moisture in the skin, and helps with a deeper sleep. Sleep deprivation is proven to affect skin condition as it restores and repairs itself to its optimal condition overnight.
Hence, the Water Sleeping Mask is enhanced with SLEEP-TOX™ and SLEEPSCENT™ technology to boost the detoxification and purification function of the skin while relaxing the mind and body to promote deep sleep. It also normalises fatigued skin affected by daytime stress. Aside from that, the MOISTURE WRAP™ technology acts like a porous moisture film that locks in moisture through the night.
To use the mask, inhale the scent for three seconds before scooping out an appropriate amount of product. Relax the body and mind, then gently spread the product all over the face beginning from the centre. Go to sleep and rinse off the next morning.
Lip Sleeping Mask
To accompany the Water Sleeping Mask, Laneige’s Lip Sleeping Mask is formulated with the BERRY MIX COMPLEX™ technology to lock in moisture and nourish the lips through the night. Providing the lips with special intensive care, the mask gently erases dry, flaky skin to reveal smooth supple lips the next morning.
Made with eight different types of antioxidant-rich berries and Vitamin C, the mask slows down the lips’ aging process and prevents damage. Similar to the Water Sleeping Mask, this lip mask also features the MOISTURE WRAP™ technology whereby a dense hyaluronic acid mineral forms a moisturising film over the lips for ultimate hydration.
To use, apply a thick layer of the Lip Sleeping Mask onto the lips using the spatula that comes with the product. The next morning, wipe off with a tissue or cotton pad.
Water Drop Tinted Lip Balm
This lip balm protects and moisturises the lips while gently removing dead skin cells. Formulated with three kinds of moisturising fruit seed oil, the moisture-locking system reduces moisture evaporation and offers a soft, refreshing feeling on the lips when the product is applied. The goodness of the lip balm deeply penetrates into the lips while leaving a matte finish. The lip balm also changes in colour based on various lip conditions. It is available in three natural colours: Pink Peach, Juicy Plum and Fresh Lime.
