Spritzer Bhd has kicked off a community campaign to provide safe and clean mineral water to communities in need, particularly orang asli communities, spurred by concern over their ability to access clean drinking water. With the community-driven initiative “Donate a Carton of Mineral Water”, Spritzer Bhd aims to provide aid to the Orang Asli Development Department (JAKOA) by the end of April. The water will then be distributed by the department to orang asli communities in need.
This initiative organised with the support of AEON runs from 9 to 26 April 2015. It is also motivated by Spritzer’s brand promise to provide Malaysians with pure and safe natural mineral water. The campaign hopes to get Malaysians to donate mineral water to those in need, even as they shop for their own household supplies.
“Safe water is important for all. It’s essential to the health of people and communities. Through “Donate a Carton of Mineral Water”, we want to give all Malaysians the opportunity to help communities in need get more access to safe water for consumption and also to improve hygiene overall. There are a number of rural communities living without clean water, thus the donation of a carton of mineral water from generous Malaysians can have a significant impact on improving their quality of life. This is particularly important after the devastating effects of the floods last December. We would like to create a ripple effect with this community project and hope that the community will join us in donating drinking water to help our fellow Malaysians in need,” said Dr Chuah Chaw Teo, Executive Director, Spritzer Bhd.
Since the floods hit the country at the end of 2014, Spritzer has been assisting various government bodies, NGOs and organisations in their effort to provide the basic necessity of safe water to the flood victims. With its unique capacity, Spritzer Bhd wants to ensure that there is a continuous supply of safe drinking water for Malaysians in time of need.
Members of the public are encouraged to participate in this community effort, simply by purchasing a carton of mineral water from any AEON supermarkets, and dropping the carton off at the designated donation point set up at the supermarket.
“Donate a Carton of Mineral Water represents an investment into the healthy future of some of the most fragile and at-risk communities in our country that lack basic necessities such as clean and safe drinking water,” added Dr Chuah. “Through the campaign we have the ability to improve lives by offering access to safe drinking water, while also empowering Malaysians from all walks of life to do something positive for their countrymen.”
Several activities will be carried out during the ‘Donate a Carton of Mineral Water’ campaign, with the aim of highlighting the importance of safe and clean drinking water. At the selected venues, there will be fun and interactive game sessions, sharing of interesting water facts, Q&A sessions for the public led by the Spritzer announcer, and special appearances by MY FM and Era FM DJs Royce and Adifashla, who are lending their support to helping those in need. Both Royce and Adifashla will be visiting a selection of AEON outlets on the 18th April 2015. Further details will be available of Spritzer’s Facebook page.
