In the past, we’ve seen numerous celebrities (such as Dianna Agron, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rachel McAdams, and Heidi Klum) sashay and strut in the blockbuster gowns from one leading luxury goods brand. Led by one American fashion designer, he describes his kick-ass, high-voltage style as “big city glamour” and “urbane luxe”. Indeed it is glamorous as we witnessed his steady series of breathtaking collections hit the runway and completely steal shows.
30 years in the business later, Michael Kors, Inc. has finally decided to expand their brand and retail presence throughout Asia. In January this year, Michael Kors, Inc. announced their plans to open a boutique in Hong Kong, followed by 50 retail locations scheduled to open in China over the next three years.
Yesterday morning, the first freestanding Michael Kors store opened its doors in the prestigious Pavilion shopping mall, located in the densely populated shopping district of Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpur. The 3,500 square foot duplex will house ready to wear Michael Kors items as well as accessories such as handbags, small leather goods, eyewear, watches, and fragrances.
This dream was made a reality via a partnership that Michael Kors, Inc. secured with Valiram Group. Word on the street is that Valiram Group already has plans to open several Michael Kors stores over the next five years.
