The Barbie’s B Your Own Hero #BeSuper event, is where Mattel invites all parents to bring their children here to begin their superhero journey and discover their inner super powers!
For the first time, Barbie™ is pulling out a cape and mask, transforming into a modern day superhero as Super Sparkle in Princess Power to inspire girls to be their own hero!
Being a brand for girls by girls, Mattel knows that kids often come up with the best forms of being super than anyone can imagine. From being nice to a sibling or helping with house chores to helping a community in need, this super-powered Barbie™ encourages girls to imagine themselves as superheroes who have the power to make a difference and celebrate their own acts of being super.
With the launch of Princess Power collection in major toy store to a series of superhero-themed play dates, little girls and parents will find that they are fully equipped to explore the various inner super strengths they may have such as interpersonal skills, creativity and imagination, hobbies and interests and beauty sense.
“To be a superhero in today’s world isn’t easy, it takes guts. It is standing up for what you believe in and never back down. Contrary to the modern-day superheroes tailored for boys, there is no need to be a superhero to do something extraordinary, it is by celebrating the everyday moments; we can all realize the superhero inside of us”, said Petrina Kho, Country Manager of Mattel Southeast Asia Pte Ltd.
With the rise of female movie heroines like Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games) and Tris Prior (The Divergent) who redefine what it means to be powerful, brave and stand up for what they believe in, girls of today’s generation should expect to live in a world where anything is possible. Based on a global research conducted, eight in 10 girls aspire to be a superhero and nine out of 10 girls age three to 10 wish there were more superheroes for girls.
Superhero persona of a timeless icon loved by every girl
