An expert nail artist hailing from Paris named Lucia Cheptene carries more than 300 bottles of nail polish in her manicure kit, but you won’t find anything metallic or shimmery inside it. Rather than creating intricate nail art designs, Cheptene, who is beloved by Parisian beauty editors, keeps things simple, featuring healthy cuticles and nourished nails enhanced with chic shades.
She only uses high-gloss sparkle-free basics such as red, dark blue and black. She avoids yellow and green hues, and all shimmering lacquers because she doesn’t find them chic. To mimic the look of a manicure in less than 15 seconds, she suggests dabbing some olive oil on the nails and cuticles for an instant quick fix.
