Teaming up with the National Sleep Foundation (NSF), Spotify has announced the list of songs we listen to when we’re dozing off, and whether they are any good for us.
Spotify went through 2.8 million user-generated sleep-themed playlists and selected the songs that appeared most often. Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” topped the charts worldwide. Some other tracks include Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” and Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do.”
Most of the tracks picked out are mellow and feature laid-back vocals, similar to that of lullabies, according to the National Sleep Foundation. Spotify also analysed that Hozier and The XX were among the most popular artists for “sexy” playlists, while John Legend topped the sappier “love” playlists.
