Newly found flight recordings reveal that one of the pilots on the doomed Germanwings flight was locked out of the cockpit and attempted to “smash the door down” before the plane’s descent into the French Alps.
According to a report in The New York Times, an investigator claimed, “The guy outside is knocking lightly on the door and there is no answer.”
“And then he hits the door stronger and no answer. There is never an answer.”
Then, the plane descended into the French Alps, killing all 150 people on board. There was no Mayday call heard.
“We don’t know yet the reason why one of the guys went out,” said the official.
“But what is sure is that at the very end of the flight, the other pilot is alone and does not open the door.”
Our prayers are with the families and friends of all the victims on that flight. More details to come.
