Beauty Guide, an online beauty and wellness platform, has officially been launched in Malaysia to locate the best spas, massages, fitness, facial, hair and nail outlets for your convenience. The first of its kind, Beauty Guide offers reviews from real clients and the user-friendly site makes it conveniently quick for customers to access.
Additionally, Beauty Guide also launched the Beauty Blog e-magazine which features current trends in the world of beauty, ranging from haircare to skin health. It covers all beauty plus wellness issues for men and women, written by specialists and classified into four sections: Beauty, Spa and Wellness, Skincare and Feature Interviews.
To learn more about Beauty Guide and experience how it works, we went on a Beauty Guide Tour around Bangsar and Taman Tun Dr Ismail to experience a number of services featured on Beauty Guide. Find out what went down below:
9:00 am – Hot Pilates at Urban Spring
Nestled in the suburb of Bangsar, Urban Spring has introduced a new class, Hot Pilates, which is a mat-based sequence exercise performed in a studio kept perfectly at 38°C to 40°C. By combining Pilates with the heat, the class covers all – stretch, cardio and toning for a sculpted body. The heat also warms up the muscles, allows for a deeper stretch and detoxifies the body through the release of toxins in sweat.
Many of us were first timers, but we really did enjoy our 30-minute session at Urban Spring. The instructor was stern and he really pushed us to our limits. His instructions were easy to follow and everyone managed just fine. You’d think that the higher temperature wouldn’t make much of a difference, but it surely did. Even though the session wasn’t super intense, we were all sweating buckets.
Urban Spring also had large lockers, proper heated showers and also hair dryers for those who prefer to clean up right after their session. Besides Hot Pilates, Urban Spring also offers other pilates classes with equipments.
11:00 am – Brunch at LA/PA
After pilates, we headed for brunch at LA/PA which is located along Jalan Telawi 3, Bangsar. Instead of ordering food individually, we sampled some small eats LA/PA has to offer. Besides homemade pastries, desserts and beverages, LA/PA also serves breakfast food, sandwiches, pastas, salads and a few mains.
12:30 pm – Shoulder and back massage at Thai Odyssey
After our delectable brunch, we were then ushered to Thai Odyssey, where they treated us with a relaxing upper-body massage which included the shoulder and back. We were taken to their second outlet in Bangsar, which was located on the third floor of Bangsar Village II. The hospitality was superb and they made sure to take care of me as well as they can and taking into consideration the fact that I am pregnant.
2:00 pm – Lunch at Pickle & Fig
Once we were done being pampered with a calming massage that allowed us to unwind, we were then treated to lunch at the very chilled out and trendy, Pickle & Fig located in TTDI. We had their delicious pasta dishes, and trust me, you would come back for more after having a meal at Pickle & Fig. We also loved the very warm ambience in the restaurant that allowed us all to have fun and casual conversations throughout our meals.
3:00 pm – Manicure and pedicure services at Posh! Nail Spa
Our last stop after a fulfilling lunch was the Posh! Nail Spa, where we were treated to a manicure or pedicure of our choice. Each manicurist was so accommodating and did a super job on our nails. While Carmen got a fancy shade of purple on her nails, I opted for something more minimal like a beige colour. What better way to end our day with Beauty Guide than with getting our nails done?
