For the first time ever, Clean & Clear named a transgender teen the face of its new ad campaign. Also an activist, Jazz Jennings is the star of the brand’s new See the Real Me promotion.
The teen was also recently announced as the star of a new TLC show All That Jazz and Clean & Clear aims to promote natural beauty while encouraging others to submit their personal stories using the hashtag #SeeTheRealMe.
“I’ve always known exactly who I am. I was a girl trapped inside a boy’s body,” Jennings explains in the new campaign video. “Growing has been quite a struggle being transgender, especially in middle school.”
Jennings mentions that classmates would occasionally treat her differently for being transgender, and that she’s even been called “it” before. She also says that this year, she has made an effort to let her true self shine.
“For the first time I invited girls over to the house, and we started hanging out more,” Jennings says. “The real me is happy and proud to be who I am.”
