Six year-old Terrence Wan made Malaysia proud by beating thousands of children around the world to emerge as a top 10 winner for the inaugural Ikea Soft Toys Drawing Competition.
In countries all around the world, children made up the most fantastic creatures. Out of all the wonderful contributions, the jury has now settled on ten winners aged from 4 to 10 years. The top 10 winners came from: Malaysia, Norway, Belgium, the Canary Islands, the United Kingdom, Croatia, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Romania and Taiwan.
The chosen drawings will now go on to become a special limited soft toy collection, which will be launched in Ikea stores worldwide as part of the new Soft Toys for Education campaign come November 2015. In the yearly global Ikea good cause campaign, for every soft toy sold through November and December 2015, the Ikea Foundation will donate 1 Euro to children’s education through UNICEF and Save the Children. With the funding, our partners help schools in Asia, Africa, and Central and Europe become more child-friendly with well-trained teachers for all children, girls and boys, including those from ethnic minorities and those with special needs.
