Valentine’s Day is tomorrow and if you’re single, worry not because it’s not as big of a deal as some make it out to be. Sure, you might feel like every where you look, couples are holding hands and making out but really, for some couples, Valentine’s Day is just another day. So, instead of feeling disgruntled, why not make this day about you.
Instead of glorifying romance, why not glorify the love you have for yourself. Here are some things you can do on Valentine’s Day besides going on a date:
Go to the movies – Get a bunch of your single girlfriends and go watch a movie together at the cinemas. Don’t be sadistic and pick rom-coms because that’s just going to make you feel bad (only if you let it), instead go for something funny or action-packed!
Treat yourself – Who says you need to be in a relationship to get presents? You know what’s more satisfying than receiving a lavish gift from a partner? Getting one for yourself with your hard-earned money. Go out to the mall and get yourself that tote bag you have been eyeing on for months. You deserve it, honey!
Finish that project – Have you got an unfinished scrapbook that you started or a book that you’ve been meaning to finish? Then take a few hours out of your day to finish all your unfinished business. You’ll feel so accomplished after!
Have dinner – You don’t have to be in love or part of a couple to go out for a nice dinner. Grab a guy or girl friend and head out to your favourite restaurant and treat the both of you to a nice 3-course meal.
Go to the spa – Why not? What better way to spend Valentine’s Day on your own than at the spa? Indulge yourself in some full on body massage, manicure and pedicure. You’ll feel refreshed and look like a million bucks after!
Have a movie marathon – Line up all your favourite flicks, pop a generous bowl of popcorn and snuggle up on your couch. Remind yourself that it’s not the end of the world being single, plus you have the couch all to yourself.
Spend the day with parents – What better way to spend Valentine’s Day than with the people that brought you into this world and who love you unconditionally. You might also get a free meal out of this and that means you’ll actually be saving. Score!
