In search for the fountain of eternal youth, some women have gone lengths to employ strange methods just to ensure that they stay looking young for longer.
In this woman’s case, she has stopped smiling for over 40 years. While this may look like an unbelievable sacrifice made in the name of beauty, her strategy has proved to be effective.
Tess Christian, now aged 50, has never smiled since she was 10 years old.
She didn’t even smile when her daughter was born. Christian says, “After Stevie’s birth I was overwhelmed with joy, but still didn’t feel the need to smile.”
“My strategy is more natural than Botox and more effective than any expensive beauty cream or facial.”
She adds, “It’s not as if I’m miserable. I love life. I just don’t feel the need to show it by walking around with a rictus grin on my face.”
“My friends have nicknamed me Mona Lisa, after the da Vinci painting. Mona Lisa was said to have been quietly amused, as am I. I just won’t show it.”
