For Spring Summer 2015, Wallis re-emerges key trends that construct the brand’s stamp with Safari and Utility as well as the 70’s being the coherent influences, revamped for the new season.
Sports and active wear can be found in block colour and simple silhouettes that create a relaxed, but sexy style for SS15. As always, print is key and this can be seen across many pieces throughout the collection, whether in monochrome Moroccan tile prints or vibrant Asian florals.
Moroccan Modern is a statement of striking pieces characterised by relaxed styling for a fluid and sophisticated look. Minimal pieces are amped up with striped statements, cut outs and Moroccan patchwork. The monochrome palette is featured in simple shapes such as luxe joggers, cold shoulder styles and column t-shirt dresses. Culottes also make a comeback this season.
Crepe jumpsuits add a modern, minimal take on the trend, while florals create a softer edge and digital print, floral maxi dresses make a feminine statement. An array of textures from metallic to lace and burnout features add interest to the collection.
The safari trend is updated by adding Asian influences into the mix. A neutral palette of rich, earthy tones accented with bold orange and sun-bleached terracotta is inspired by nature. Safari jackets, utility jumpsuits and maxi shirt dresses in key prints offer a dressed up look. Asian inspirations are seen in halter and wrapped styles, whereby bright colour blocking is seen with exotic florals to give these influences a modern twist.
