1. Get beached

Malaysia has some of the world’s best beaches – so why not spend New Year’s Eve on the beach – party all night and watch the sun rise over the beach on the New Year! Remember, alcohol and the ocean do not mix! So be safe! Sit in a beach-side bar on Pantai Cenang in Langkawi and bring in the New Year in style. If money isn’t an issue, why not book yourself an extravagant Langkawi sunset/ New Year’s Eve cruise?

2. Get high

Kuala Lumpur has some pretty amazing sky bars. What better way to bid 2014 goodbye and welcome 2015 than being on top of the world? Mai Bar at Aloft Hotel is having a New Year’s Eve party with DJs such as IRAMA, Tubby, Jhin, Mmeng, Rambo, Ko Pi GO. There’s a cover charge of RM75 inclusive of one drink and doors open at 8pm.

4. Movie night at home!

Had your fair share of NYE partying all these years and all you want is some peace and quiet? Have a low-key NYE night with a stack of DVDs, good food and a bottle of bubbly! With delivery services such as FoodPanda, you don’t even have to leave the house the entire day!

5. Get stuffed!

The holidays are all about indulging so why not book you and your loved ones or friends for a NYE buffet dinner? Heaps of hotels have a New Year’s Eve buffet dinner and you will definitely have no shortage of options! If buffets are not your thing, take the turkey route and have a roast dinner all over again – after all, there will be no turkey until next year.
