In 1956, renowned French screen siren Brigitte Bardot – who trained as a ballerina – requested Repetto’s founder Rose Repetto to create a shoe for her that had the delicateness and ease of a dance slipper but comfortable and sturdy enough for her to wear out on the streets. Bardot subsequently immortalised her customised Repetto flats both on-screen and off-screen and made wearing ballerina flats out on the streets her, and every chic Parisian girl’s, de rigueur style trademark.
Entirely handmade in Repetto’s Dordogne workshop in France, the Brigitte boasts luxurious fabrication, grosgrain trimming, adjustable laces and pink cotton canvas lining and leather soles that are synonymous with the house. Available in an assortment of bold graphic hues and textures like zebra, calf and patent leather, the Brigitte flat is the sole companion of choice for discerning fashionistas who want to marry style currency with functional sensibility
