Pop up retail store, POP at The School, Jaya One is a space that budding entrepreneurs will appreciate. From F&B to fashion, toys, books, arts and crafts, jewellery and other unique items and products, POP’s goal is to inspire those who want to sell an idea and turn it into a business.
With this in mind, POP is having an Innovators and Game Changers Award where one can:
- kick start one lucky person’s dream to convert his/her innovative creation into money and,
- encourage creativity and critical thinking.
The competition was opened to all college students who want to try their hands at inventing something and stand a chance to win RM5,000! The finale will take place on December 13th, 2014 at 1pm at POP, Jaya One where the five finalists will explain how they are going to market and sell their inventions to three judges.
To be a part of this finale and witness some of the innovative creations, here’s what you have to do:
a) Complete this sentence “If I could invent something, I would invent…” (in no more than 10 words). Email your answers to igc@paradoxbc.com by December 11th, 2014 to win a pair of tickets to the finale.

The 5 Finalists
1. Pearl Tan, ‘STATEMENT’
A 2-in-1, statement necklace and portable makeup kit. Acts like a locket; filled with makeup – lipbalm, lipstick or eyeshadow.
2. Ibrahim Mubarak, ‘The BeanBAG’
A beanbag that acts as a backpack, sling bag or handbag. Provides you with comfort during your outdoor events.
3. Kavirasan, ‘Dotpixa’
A software that works as a resource centre that students can use to find sample assignments and internship.
4. Vinish Kumar, ‘Energy Harvest Bag’
A bag that generates free and green energy from the bodily movement of the carrier. The electricity generated can be used to charge mp3 players, mobile phones and other low powered electronic devices.
5. Team Nodhirkon, ‘TROstick’
Assists people with visual impairments such as partial or full blindness. This stick comes with various functions that allows the visually impaired to walk in urban areas with greater ease!
The grand finale will also feature performances by Zainal Abidin and emceed by singer/songwriter Liang featuring the sounds of Yayasan Sunbeams Home and Ti-Ratana Welfare Society. There will also be lucky draws, games and prizes to be won.
